Chapter Members Testify During Public Hearing
Sometimes, as men of Sigma, we are asked to weigh in on topics with relatively little time to react and last night there were a couple of bills the Howard County Delegation were considering that desperately needed our support. The African American Community Roundtable sent out a request and much like the County healthy vending initiative from last year, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was the only Fraternal organization to the respond.
Through a little bit of serendipity, your Chapter President just happened to make the news when giving testimony on behalf of the Chapter as a result. This just emphasizes that everything we do to serve our community matters and thank you again for all of you that help to put and keep the Fraternity (and specifically our Chapter) on the map. Howard County community members packed the George Howard building on Tuesday December 1st, spending more than five hours testifying on proposed local bills.
